E is for Exercise

E- Everyone needs exercise every day.
X- Be extra careful to make sure your child's play is safe and age appropriate.
E- Exercise should be fun. Find an activity that you all enjoy.
R- Run, Jump, hide outside in a safe open space.
C- Children like to be active. Keep them moving at least 60 minutes each day.
I- If you can't be outside, active inside play is the next best thing.
S- Set an example for your children by teaching them that exercise should be part of their daily ritual like brushing their teeth.
E- Explore new ways for your family to get exercise every day.

Infant (0-12 months old)
Give your baby "floor time' on a clean blanket away from harm and watch him/her reach, kick, roll and crawl. Play peek-a-boo and pat-a-cake with your baby.

Toddlers (1-3 years old)
Toddlers are learning to balance and develop skills like running and jumping. Active play helps your child's body and brain develop by allowing them to be creative and use their imagination. Dance to music and play follow the leader with your toddler.

Preschoolers (3-5 years old)
Preschoolers are developing confidence in basic movement skills such as running and jumping. Exercise will help prepare them for sports and more advanced physical activities. Play hide and seek, freeze tag and hopscotch with your preschooler.

Exercise will help you and your child feel good about yourselves, be healthier ,control your weight and help you all sleep better at night.
